“Airey Taylor Consulting would like to congratulate Ultimo Design & Construction on their achievement of the National Award for Best Commercial/Industrial Building under $5 million for their inspiring redevelopment of the Guildford Hotel site. Bringing the architectural designs from Fratelle Group to fruition, Ultimo have resurrected a heritage site beloved to the Perth community. This site suffered enormous fire damage and was subject to careful redevelopment that championed the key heritage features and restored core function to the site. The restoration process for this project took two years and blended the best of modern design and contemporary feel with the landmark history of the building – which dates back to the 1880’s.
Airey Taylor completed the Structural Engineering for this project, and is proud to have collaborated on such a landmark project that maintains one of Perth’s iconic heritage sites while maintaining its identity and utility for future generations.
Ultimo Design & Construction were also awarded the Best New Builder (under 5 years) award in the 2017 Master Builder / Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards, cementing their reputation as an innovative company on the forefront of delivering excellence to the Western Australian community.
