A Southern Inland Health Initiative.
The refurbishment of the Lake Grace and Wagin hospitals is part of the $108.8 million small hospital and nursing post refurbishment program under the $565 million Southern Inland Health Initiative, funded by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program.
A total of 26 sites across the Wheatbelt, South West and Central Great Southern regions will benefit from this investment with construction in Wagin and Lake Grace planned to commence in December 2014.
Lake Grace Hospital was found to be extensively damaged by inadequate footing selection for a clay profile site (in terms of AS2870 Cat 3 Damage). Remediation for both wings designed using:
a) RETROCLAY system of soil moisture stabilisation developed and patented by ATC and;
b) Unique permanent internal wall and ceiling remediation system developed by ATC. Patent granted January 2013;
c) Provision of documentation of minor structural alterations and additions.
The design and documentation of addition and alterations at Wagin Hospital included:
a) Assessment of the structural status and provision of reverse brief;
b) Provision of minor structural requirements for incorporation in Architectural documentation.
