HMAS Stirling is the Royal Australian Navy’s primary base on the west coast of Australia. It is located on Garden Island in the state of Western Australia, near the city of Perth. Garden Island also has its own airport on the island.

This major development consisted of eight projects.  Airey Taylor Consulting was responsible for all structural and civil engineering design and documentation. RANAWED Vehicle Holding Yard, RANAWED Explosives Workshop, RANAWED Office and Amenities Block, RANAWED Extension to MHE Garage, Extension to the Health Centre, Extension to Naval Stores Warehouse B76, Fleet Base West General Amenities and Indoor Recreation Complex.

Responsible Director John Taylor has received a commendation from the Royal Australian Navy for the innovative use of post-tension slab flooring in the RAN’s Torpedo Maintenance Facility at this site.
