Airey Taylor were responsible for the leading edge Structural and Civil components of the 100 year design<\/p>\n<p>The project requirements and constraints imposed real challenges to the structural resolution of the building. Overcoming these challenge required creativity and lateral thinking to provide a simple yet elegant solution to a complex problems.\u00a0 Airey Taylor Consulting offered an elegant, advanced structural engineering resolution to provide 100 year design life for the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The Main Theatre is positioned on top of the Studio Theatre, and the foyers vertically stacked and directly connect to Roe, William and James Streets through a public concourse level. This arrangement has the main concourse, studio theatre and main theatre foyers as a single space separated vertically to minimise the footprint.<\/p>\n<p>The outstanding project delivered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 575-seat Main Theatre<\/li>\n<li>A 237-seat flexible Studio space<\/li>\n<li>Two Rehearsal Rooms<\/li>\n<li>Outdoor Performance space<\/li>\n<li>Spacious Foyers and Public amenities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/atconsulting.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/06081-STCWA-Marketing-Brochure.pdf\">Information Brochure on Project<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The State Theatre Centre of WA offers an iconic range of flexible spaces from an open air courtyard to the famous Health Ledger Theatre.  This building faced a range of dynamic challenges from the placement, height restrictions, access and the theatre extending over 8 metres below the water table.
