Featuring outstanding design and management of structural and civil elements which set new parameters of excellence for major health facility design the Peel campus is an extensive single storey campus constructed of a light weight steel frame with light weight steel purlins braced by brick walls.

This configuration facilitated quick and easy erection of the steel frame ready for the following trades. The floor slabs were constructed with polymer fibre reinforcement to provide additional strength for large slab panels (27m x 18m) and eliminate the risk of future corrosion associated with steel reinforcement.

The civil engineering design was a water sensitive design with integrated stormwater and landscaping elements.

The car park design for this project was also by ATC.

Stage 1 of this project has been adopted by the State Government as a model for design of future public health complexes, facilitating rapid construction while allowing continuing operation of existing hospital structures.

Stage 2 involved refurbishment of existing facilities and fully demonstrated the managerial and design capabilities of this practice in making major modifications to existing structures while maintaining operation of facilities.
